We got a charity gravel ride going on with our good friends from Hub Velo https://www.hubvelo.cc
Sunday 29th May
125k
Hackney to Whitsable
https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/263614/Ride-To-The-Sun
Charity gravel ride from the city to the sea raising money for Ukraine refugee charity Fundacja ESPA (based in Poland) https://fundacjaespa.org/en/home-2/. and https://thebikeproject.co.uk supplying bicycles to new arrived refugees in the UK.. It's a truly iconic route from East London and the lower Lea Valley to the Thames path and then the North Downs way to the far Kent coast and the idyllic town of Whitstable all in one day. Nothing too technical and on a good day suitable for almost any bike, with stunning landscapes and locations this wil truly be a very memorable day out.
The ride will be non-signed but mapped out with a GPX route so please bear this mind. On a good day the ride wil be possible on a road bike with robust tyres. It wil be self supported and the there is a train straight back from Whitstable to London Victoria in 1.20 hours. It is unsupported but there are plenty of spots for coffee and lunch on the way. We recommend Gravesend end as a good half way point. The start wil be from Hub Velo in lower Clapton with free coffee and the shop wil be open. The finish wil be at the ........ pub (TBC) in Whitstable .
Entry is £10 at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/263614/Ride-To-The-Sun
